Hello friends!

Greetings from the Eastern Europe MOTA outreach team currently located in Thessaloniki, Greece! After a full two days of driving through seven different countries, we finally arrived here last Wednesday night. Since arriving, we have been busy with many different projects, churches, and dreams. One of our contacts, a pastor at an international church here, graciously provided us an apartment-style place to live in (with beds!) that is in the midst of being turned into a house of prayer and a food bank. We are the first team to stay here and feel very blessed. The church is very excited that we are here to baptize it.

Our first couple of days in the city concentrated on exploring and getting to know this wonderful place and its people- as well as prayer walks, coming up with ideas on how to use our art to reach out to the people here and having worship every morning as a team. Now that we settled in, we are working on putting our ideas into reality. Some things we are working on here is simply going out in the streets and evangelizing, having worship among the people, visiting nearby gypsy camps, doing all night prayer and worship sessions at one of the churches, prayer walks through the Red Light District, street art projects, joining in with a photogenic team from YWAM Kona and many individual ideas. Our contacts here are all so passionate about bringing hope and light into the city of Thessaloniki and are willing to partner with us in all we do, which is another big blessing.

Last night, a few of us had the privilege to join our friend Todd and visit a local gypsy camp. We led worship, played with the adorable and loving children and talked with the mothers and fathers. Todd also gave a sermon, which he does every Tuesday night. The amount of joy this community has, even though they are lacking in basic necessities, live in a slum and cannot read or write, is simply incredible. They were all so happy to have us there and you can tell that their hunger for Christ is so strong. At the end of the night, the four of us were praying for some individuals suffering body pains, broken bones, etc., and God totally showed up. He brought healing to a mother with bad arm and shoulder pain and possibly some others that we prayed for (communication is difficult so we can’t say for sure!). It is amazing that we have a God who comes down to the earth to heal His children, and being able to show that amazing love to the people of this gypsy camp was amazing. Some of us are going to another gypsy camp a couple hours south on Thursday, then we are all going back to the same one next week sometime to spend more time with the children and family.

Our whole team is very excited to be here to share the good news and love of Jesus… and we cannot wait to continue on this journey! We are here in Greece for the next two weeks before heading to Bulgaria, then Moldova, then Romania. We know that God will be doing even more incredible things through us these next 9 weeks, and we can’t wait to continue to share them with you all. Thank you for being a part of our journey thus far, and expect more updates coming from us soon!

Much love
